  • $120/Hour

  • Cerakote and Powder Coating

    Simple Projects: 1-2 Weeks
    Moderate Projects: 3-4 Weeks
    Complex Projects: 4-6 Weeks

    Lead times are always our best estimate and may change during the build process. This estimate does not take into account special projects or other circumstances. We’ll never push a project out the door until it meets our standards for quality just to meet our lead times. To ensure you get our best work, additional time may be required if complications occur.

  • If you have an upcoming event or something urgent requiring your project, please notify us in advance and ensure there is ample time between leaving your project with us and your event to accommodate any additional time needed. We will do our best to complete the project within that timeline. Otherwise, it may be best to start your project after the event has concluded.

  • Our pricing includes disassembly, reassembly, and shipping* back to you. There are no hidden charges; what you see is what you get.


    *Please note that shipping charges for oversized items ($65) and discounted projects will apply.

  • We welcome you to drop off or pick up your project, or to visit us for a consultation.

  • Once we've confirmed the services you've requested, we'll forward you the shipping and payment details. We don't take payment till the project is completed unless you're purchasing a firearm or parts in conjunction with our other services.

    Most services include free shipping back to the customer. Free shipping does not apply to discounted or oversized projects, and shipping will be charged at current Canada Post Expedited rates. Canada Post Xpresspost is also available at current rates.Item description

  • We want you to be satisfied with your project. We inspect each project before it leaves our workshop to ensure it meets our strict standards. However if somehow it reaches you and it’s not right, we’ll make it right. That’s our promise.

  • We offer a wide range of colors for Cerakote and powder coating. With over 300 Cerakote colors and more than 6,500 powder coating options, we can find the right option for your project. If we don't have the specific color you're looking for, we'll bring it in at no additional cost.

3D Printing Pricing Strategy

At Black Box Automotive, our 3D printing pricing strategy is designed to be transparent, fair, and competitive. We aim to provide high-quality services that meet the diverse needs of our customers. Here's how we structure our pricing:

1. Base Material Cost

  • Standard Filaments (PLA, ABS, PETG): Priced per gram of material used.

  • Specialty Filaments (Nylon, Carbon Fiber, Flexible, etc.): Priced higher due to the increased cost of materials.

2. Printing Time

  • Hourly Rate: We charge an hourly rate based on the complexity and duration of the print. This includes machine time, monitoring, and maintenance.

  • Rush Jobs: Expedited jobs will incur an additional fee.

3. Design and Setup

  • File Preparation: Includes file review, slicing, and setting up the print job. Basic file preparation is included in the hourly rate, while complex designs may incur additional fees.

  • Custom Design Services: If you need assistance with creating or modifying a 3D model, our design team is available at an hourly rate.

4. Post-Processing

  • Basic Cleaning: Included in the base price. This involves removing support structures and minor finishing.

  • Advanced Finishing: Additional services such as sanding, painting, and assembly are available at extra cost.

5. Volume Discounts

  • Bulk Orders: We offer discounts for large volume orders, making it more cost-effective for customers with larger projects.

  • Repeat Customers: Loyalty discounts for our regular customers.

6. Shipping

  • Local Pickup: Free of charge.

  • Domestic Shipping: Priced based on weight and destination.

  • International Shipping: Available at cost.
